As an archaeologist, I have always found inspiration and joy from the past. My art is a reflection of who I am and I love the work I do around my heritage and the past we share here in the United Kingdom. These designs find inspiration from Medieval art and styles as well as Celtic knot-work. A key theme and icon of Fabrikate Crafts is the White Hare of Creggan, which comes from the Irish folk song of the same name. Below you will find some of my work inspired by these themes.
Celts, the medieval and folklore: the best sources of inspiration
Miniature Welsh Landscapes
Lately, I have been loving the idea of making cards more permanent. To make my cards even more special, i have been creating mini embroideries inspired by the Welsh Landscape. These cards have a dual purpose of a card and a keepsake, the perfect addition to any special occasions.

Silver Necklaces Sneaky Peek
I love incorporating nature into my jewellery. I love organic shapes inspired by nature and the seaside. This collection has been inspired by these elements. I hope you enjoy having a peek of what I’ve been creating lately.

Welcome to Fabrikate Crafts
Welcome to Fabrikate Crafts. My name is Kate and I have always loved creating and making. I spent 25 years as an archaeologist and since retiring I have loved reconnecting with my creative side. My inspiration comes from the world around me and my love of historic imagery. I have always loved my home in mid-Wales and I have memorialised that love in my embroidered landscapes that reflect the home I have made here. I hope you enjoy exploring my art, if you have any questions or queries please do contact my at [email protected].
